Evidently there is an update available for my Sync 3 but.....

I would think that one would be available from Ford soon. It has been out for quite a while.

Evidently there is an update available for my Sync 3 but.....

What SYNC version are you on now? Latest is 21194. I would start over if you need to update. Make sure your USB is empty and download again. I don't remember how many files there were. Using WIFI did not work well for me. I might not have the best service.

This will tell you how to check your SYNC version. https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/sync/sync-3/what-is-my-sync-3-software-version/

    Electronic issues

Are you on the newest version of SYNC? It is 21194 and that solved a lot of radio issues among others. Not sure if it affects the seats or mirrors.

Explorer deleting second row climate controls

Just read an article this morning that said BMW and GM are doing it also.

    MBRP Exhaust

I don't see one either. And if you look at their directions both say it is an axle back. I would not even consider them. My 2 cents.

    Left strut tower....

Good catch on that. I just looked at mine and and it is a ground cable running to the motor.

    Nav system distance issue...

If there is I haven't seen it.

    Left strut tower....

You may be right when I look again.

    Left strut tower....

I think that is used for the strut cover if you have it.

Time to put in work on the audio but I have questions:

Check out what Unbroken has done. It's pretty amazing. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/focal-mosconi-illusion-and-helix-build.2344/

    Reconsidering Explorer ST

The Diffy Stiffy does require drilling a couple holes in the cross member.

    Reconsidering Explorer ST

If you lose the tech package you also lose the massaging seats. No change on the 10" screen so far. Highway mileage for me has been been 24 to 25 MPG. Drops on short trips around town. Roof rails are optional on new orders from what I've seen. Towing I don't have much to add.

    A fast Ford Explorer ST

Thanks Unbroken. I just found it interesting how fast one of these beasts can be.

    FND Whipple Intercooler

To me 11.5 is still fast. Forgive me asking but who is Daren, I'm curious. Mine is stock so I guess I'm pretty slow. 93 octane is almost non existent around here and even 91 is about 72 cents a gallon more. Kind of sucks.
