I actually looked into this as well. Like '2020FordRaptor' said, the weight capacity is grossly underwhelming and not going to be worth it for a tent and let alone one person. Better off going with old fashioned tent on the ground or pulling a pop-up or something that fits your needs.

That's so funny you mention an older CL because it was my newer TL that the was the PITA with the auto. I had an '03 CL Type S that was perfect for the 6-7 years I had it. Then got an '08 TL Types S and the auto had a mind of its own sometimes.

You absolutely can turn it off with Forscan. Finally did it a couple weeks ago and don't know why I waited so long to do it! As soon as you turn it off Broose, you'll notice right away the next you drive it. Night and Day.

It's going to come down to personal preference and how much you drive. When I was driving an hour every day for work it would have been easy to stick with all seasons. Thats when my vehicle was just front wheel drive. After trying snow tires on FWD I felt invincible and then a great all season...

Most insurance has glass coverage included. It's a separate deductible as well. Had one windshield replaced by Geico and then one repaired, twice. The repairs cost me nothing out of pocket. Construction trucks were terrible in Jersey.
