Stick it out with ST, or call it?

I was also having SYNC issues. I updated to the recent release and that seems to have cleaned things up. I forgot that I'm also seeing the occasional backup camera blue screen. I'm old school and use my mirrors so its more of an irritation than a problem.

Stick it out with ST, or call it?

The more bells and whistles on a car the more there is to go wrong. The Toyota 4runner is a very reliable vehicle. My son has one and I considered buying one before getting my Explorer. But the 4runner is ancient tech and it doesn't offer any of the creature comforts that I have on my...

Stick it out with ST, or call it?

My sympathies. It sucks to feel that way about a car you want to really like, and do when everything is working. I drove an e46 M3 for a long time with similar love/hate relationship. I've only had my ST for a couple months and I haven't let myself fall in love with it yet. I bought used...

Is there any exhaust I can get for my ST that doesn't require cutting anything

Thermal has both a cat back and a mid-pipe back kit. Is there any reason to replace stock mid-pipe with the Thermal mid-pipe?

Problem with locking and unlocking when touching door handle.

Well, it was bothering the hell out of me that my auto unlock wasn't working so yesterday I tore into it to see what was up. I had been hearing a random tapping or slight clunk inside the door panel behind the speaker when I opened the door. I had a feeling that the two might be related. Its...

    Your ST's pet name??

I named my GT500 Tempest Storm or Tempest for short a few years ago. Continuing the stripper name theme, my new ST (carbonized gray) is known as Misty Knight or just Misty. I think it suits her. Tempest Storm Misty Knight

Problem with locking and unlocking when touching door handle.

Battery is completely topped off and measuring well above 12v. Issue remains. I popped the door handle covers off to look at the antennas. Rear door has one pair of wires and the drivers door has two pairs, one of them being the same wire pair from the rear door. So, it appears the antennas...

Problem with locking and unlocking when touching door handle.

OK thanks for the reply. I've got it on the battery charger now just to eliminate that possibility.

    Took the Plunge

Thanks all! I've got my first gremlin. Two doors on drivers side don't lock or unlock with the touch sensor. Both passenger side doors work fine. Have not driven the car much yet but looking forward to a little roadtrip this weekend.

Problem with locking and unlocking when touching door handle.

I drove 60 miles home from the dealer the day before so I don't think this is the problem. I will put it on the battery charger though and see if it makes any difference. My son is a tech for a large Ford dealership. He says this is a pretty common problem lately from Ford. He says it's...

Problem with locking and unlocking when touching door handle.

Did the BCM fix the previous issue? Have you been able to resolve the problem with the new one? I just discovered that my passenger doors work correctly but touch lock or unlock does not work on either door on the drivers side.

    Took the Plunge

I've had an Explorer Sport for nearly 11 years. Bought ol Red in December 2012 when Ford first put the 3.5 boost into the Explorer. Loved that car since day one and never had a single mechanical or electrical problem. She's tired to the tune of 160K miles though, so I'm handing the keys to my...
