    October Software Update Installed Today

Last week's? I honestly haven't looked. I have not paid much attention to that menu, and may not notice if it has been changed.

    October Software Update Installed Today

I went to run an errand a moment ago, and the main screen popped up saying that another update would be installed tomorrow morning at 1 AM.

    Transmission Flush

This is one of the things I do at the dealer. Did my F150 transmission, front and rear diffs, and transfer case at 50k and 100k at the dealer. Cost wasn't terrible, and it's peace of mind. Will do the same with this one.

Explorer Compliance Recall Notice 25C42/NTHSA Recall 25V543

Yeah the current tundras have had engine failures. I think the floormat fiasco is why all of them have clips now for the drivers side.

Explorer Compliance Recall Notice 25C42/NTHSA Recall 25V543

I get it. But Toyota’s had plenty. Floormats that would kill you. Air bag shrapnel that would kill you. Tundra engine failures trying to show the Chevy 6.2L how to hold a beer lol.

Explorer Compliance Recall Notice 25C42/NTHSA Recall 25V543

Yeah, I mean it's almost a $60k suv. And you drop out the ST logo, speaker logos and a tele steering wheel? Lame.

Explorer Compliance Recall Notice 25C42/NTHSA Recall 25V543

Yeah, pretty crazy. Mine was a very late July build, and I got it at the end of Sept. So it didn't sit around long. All I did was run the VIN on the NHTSA site... They are selling a lot of Explorers this year so far, so they need to get it together. And yeah. Mine didn't have rear shades, nor...

Explorer Compliance Recall Notice 25C42/NTHSA Recall 25V543

I just ran my VIN, and nothing comes back. Its a July 2025 build, so maybe this will miss me.

Catch Can and Oil Change Interval Question

Oil testing is not expensive, I used to all the time. Just check out bob is the oil guy.

    October Software Update Installed Today

There are so many electronics in these things now. Both good and bad for the owners. I love it, but I also bought the 60k bumper to bumper.

    October Software Update Installed Today

Well, that's crazy. Mine worked this morning. Haven't seen any "problems" yet...

    2020 Explorer ST

Personal experience and opinion. When the app starts saying it's disabling features to save the battery, make financial plans, and grab a new AGM when you can. Go to a reputable dealer in town that changes it for free too! I see it may not have fixed the other issues, but I have tested the...

Catch Can and Oil Change Interval Question

Just a testament that many of us overkill things. I've seen cars that were well-maintained blow out early, and abused cars rock. I know I'm probably overdoing it at 5k OCIs on ecoboosts, but it's just a thing for me. I used to use Techron religiously, now I make sure I buy from the right...

2025 ST . 1st oil change at 1k miles. What oil and filter do you all recommend?

Any full syn leading brand is fine, mainly if you stick to 5k intervals. My local shop charges about $80 and does a full syn-valvoline, uses a good brand of filter (I can't remember the shelf name, but I looked them up and they build other good filters), and includes tire rotation. My ecoboosts...

2021 ST, One of the best vehicles I have owned

I've had 10 Fords before this 2025, and I only have 1k miles on it. It is for sure, other than my 2019 PP2 Mustang, one of my favorite cars ever. Plenty fast, and I haven't tuned (yet). Added a Thermal 2.5", sounds great. And the creature comforts and seats are a win. Looks nice too.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Just picked it up and drove it back. Black tips match so much better. Cold start is nice and sounds good when given a little more juice. Turbo sound is definitely up. The best part is, at cruise on 85 and 80, it's quiet. Maybe a hair of rumble on a hill, but other than that, just what I hoped...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Thermal 2.5" with black tips. I dropped it off an hour ago, and they are already done. I've used this shop for 20+ years, and when he called, the guy said he was surprised that, for a 6-cylinder, it actually has a really great sound—picking up at lunch. I'll be glad for those dinky chrome tips...
