Maybe I’m remembering incorrectly, but I didn’t think back pressure was very important with FI cars

Turbo vehicles are best with zero back pressure.

Has anyone addressed if you need to run a tune? I'm having a new tune sent, but for those who are stock, will a CEL appear?

SPD says they’re fine to run on a stock tune.

had my tech talk directly to Jacob - could have also had a local machine shop relocate the hole but I felt I’d rather have the fit and finish of a new correct pipe.
not pleased it happened but SPD made it right and quickly, so all good!

Did anyone have an issue with the install of the SPD'S?? My mechanic is saying he can't get the stock pipes off without some special tool? He can't see it, but can only feel it. He's talking to Ford now to get the specs but was hoping someone had some insight on this.

I spoke to SPD about this
No special tools are required
deep socket, universal / swivels, and extensions - finding the right combination of those tools is the only thing special about it
need a lift too
the pass side is the worst to remove

I’ve only seen 1 pic...the nuts look like some weird 12 point or something. Or does a 6 point socket fit?

The guy said it's like putting together a multi-turned Lego Torque wrench. Got the car back finally tonight at 7:30pm and will put the Downpipes on after I get back from vacation at the Jersey Shore.

Picture parade to follow when I can see it in the light. Borla Sounds great by itself tho and ride dropped with the Sway Bar at the tightest setting is incredible.

I tried yesterday. Looks like you need an E-socket (female torx). P.I.T.A to find, Home Depot/Harbor Freight/ Lowe’s/ auto zone/ pep boys, didn’t have it in stock. I found a set on amazon, should be arriving today.

Turning out to be like the UPR catch can's orange lock mechanism surprise. WTF is Ford doing putting a boutique fastener on downpipes - I'm a shade tree mechanic on a good day, but this is bizarre.

Thanks @Nick P and @Kryuenger and @UNBROKEN - I've got them ordered so my shop can install this in a timely fashion. I suppose there's not mention of what specific size is needed?

Sockets came in, I haven’t gone under to test fit. I’ll let you know shortly.
