Yeah that’s all I really cared about was wireless CarPlay. If you do go the CarLinkIt route, LMK if you need any help setting it up. The directions can be a little unclear.
I will, thanks!

I asked a dealer here in Orlando about lifting the stop sale for the cars sitting on the lot (not special ordered).... And he told me they are getting more information next Wednesday.

Let me know cause if they do I’ll get my deposit and go to that dealer instead. I’m in Seminole county

Hey, can I ask the name of your dealership? My dealer said they want to talk to a dealer that released an explorer to an owner before releasing mine to me.

Based on the latest update, it seems that the permanent fix is confirmed for Q-4 2023. Ford issued a communication to the Dealers on 07th August 2023 in this regard. I have found a link below, which has a chronological upload of all circulars shared by ford with Dealers/Owners under this recall:

https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=23V342000

Few points -
Only the in-stock vehicle are not allowed to be updated under this interim fix. Dealers are to prioritize repairs of Customer Vehicle with this fix and not perform the interim repair on the in-stock inventory (which are technically not sold). Question is, the units which have booked booked by us, are these in-stock inventory or Customer Vehicle?
It also says that Ford has already started to repair the vehicle at the plant and therefore, we could see incidents wherein the vehicles are being delivered. It also mentions that used vehicles are excluded and ford has not issued stop sale on these vehicles.

Bookmark the link and I think this is the most updated news source for all of us on this matter.

Hate to say it but I think it’s laid out pretty clearly IMO. Right here “will not allow vehicles to be delivered.” Which is what your dealership needs to do in order to let you take a car home. They’ve got to show you taking delivery on whatever date. They report you taking delivery during the stop sale and they could be looking at fines totaling almost half the cost of the vehicle. Which explains why some of the dealers aren’t playing around with it.

I wonder if the cars off the line on recent builds have new components which would make it available for sale upon delivery?

I was under the impression that only cars built before May are the ones with the cámara problem. Correct me if I’m wrong

So was I however there aren't ANY sellable ST's (Limiteds and Platinums too) for sale in my area and surrounding areas, where are all the recent units from the last three months after the beginning of May ?? Was going to jump to an Aviator but Lincoln has the same issue.

I just would like to know the dealerships that are releasing/delivering people their explorers with the interim fix. I’ll either go to that dealership or have mine call them.

The recall states the build dates October 19, 2018 through May 2, 2023 are the ones with camera problems. So please explain how I’m “not exactly correct”

I am waiting on a couple built on 5/5/23. It says that there are no camera issues, but they still havn't been delivered. They keep pushing out the dates. Currently no date given.

Have you contacted FORD? When did you order?

I'm new here, but have been watching this for about a month. I live just outside of Chicago, and there have not been any explorers really moving from sitting in the lot. I'm not waiting on an ST, but I am waiting to take ownership of a 23 Limited with a 360 camera that works, but still sitting on the dealership lot, that I put a deposit down on and am trading my current explorer for. So I was told that my dealership can not move any of the ST's, Limited or Platnium's that were in inventory prior to the stop sale, and they won't move till the permanent fix is readyand installed. So the prior post with the memo from August confirms what is to happen sadly. My husband and I have been loyal Ford owners for about 30yrs, but I have to say with all the recalls across the Ford line-up makes us question the reliability and safety of all the vehicles not just the explorers.

We took delivery of our ST on 8/9/23. We purchased it on May 20, 2023. The dealer made the temp fix and released the car to us. The dealer is Elder Ford on Tampa Fl. Let me know if this helps any of you with your problems.

Thanks to everyone for all the info. Seems like everyone receiving "the fix" and taking possession of their Explorers have purchased off the lot. Happy to hear that! It's a good sign that things are moving. Curious, has anyone at all taken possession of a 2023 new build order since May?

From what I can tell no Explorers made after 5/2/23 have hit lots yet.
