Just got back from my 1st test drive of a 2020 St, grey, 19,000 miles, did not have the upgraded tires/brakes. I just pushed the button and drove, didn't think about a particular mode, exited I guess, so I am sure I was not in sport, asked the sales person if regular or premium was in it and he seemed to think regular, keeping in mind that my daily driver is a 2017 Cadillac 3.0, Cts V sport Twin turbo, stock, I was totally under whelmed by the lack of power. Maybe not being in sport mode, definitely the regular gas, had an effect on the power. Is their a boost gauge on the sport screen ? The I pad looking tablet definitely is not as big as it has looked on the many video's I have watched. I guess all of those video's that I watched were everyone commented on how it pulled and how quick it was had raised my expectations, oh well. They have a 2021, black w/the tire/wheel/brake upgrade package coming in, he will call me, I am going to make sure they have premium in it for my test drive. Any input would be appreciated.

The numbers of both vehicles are similar.. the CTSV puts out a little more power and weighs less so you are used to a quicker vehicle..

That being said.. sport mode does make a world of a difference and just learning the quirks of the 10 speed transmission (which was still "trained" to the previous owner).

I run 93 and im stock.. don't see much of a difference than regular but also it's been so long since I've used regular.

Take another test drive in sport mode and in manual mode and use the shifters. You will be impressed with the shifting and overall acceleration.

When they call back about the test drive I will definitely put it in sport mode , hopefully have some premium in it and give it a try. Is their a boost gauge? By the way, I don't have the "V" w/the V8, mine is the Vsport w/twin turbo 6 rated at 400 hp. Thanks for your reply !

Also, no boost gauge. Tried using FORscan to add one but I couldn't figure it out, don't even know if it's possible.

As much as the ST has a good amount of power for a third row SUV.. I'm more impressed with how it handles the road especially after being lowered a bit. It's a huge Go-Kart around the twisties.. the adrenaline rush is crazy when you really start to push the limits of the suspension.

Also I know haha the V with the V8 would blow us out of the water but the Vsport is no joke either.. 420/430 in a sedan is serious!

With a tune and minor bolt ons.. people on here have turned them into much more powerful rides for sure.
