Wider Tire Noise

The stock 21" Pirelli's tires on the ST have the noise cancellation system inside the tire. Did anyone notice an increase in tire noise changing these tires to wider larger tires?

From my experience it's just as much about the tread pattern, rubber compound, and temperatures. Quieter tires will have semi-closed shoulders, various sizes of tread blocks, and minimal gaps between tread blocks. On all of my vehicles in the past the narrower winter tires are always louder than the wider summer tires due to tread and rubber compound. This is still true going from 275 winter to 325 summer (BMW X5M). Can't speak to this application in particular since I haven't gone wider...yet.

Aspect ratio/air pressure probably has something to do with it
