Rear Camera Replacement

EDIT: Solved. read 2nd post

I want to replace my rear camera. My overzealous self wiped it one too many times this winter with salt coating the lens and scratched it up. I actually ended up adding the rear camera spray line to my car to avoid this issue in the future.

I have the camera and it was pretty cheap ($40 for the OEM ford camera) but before I go pulling the trim down and plugging it in, i'd like to know what required module programming and calibrations (if any) need to be done through ForScan. That way if i have to copy any as_built data from an existing module, i can do it now.

I do not have the 360 camera option on my '23 due to getting the 360 cam chip credit on my vehicle

BTW, there seem to be two distinct cameras. The difference is the connection. If you search both part numbers you will see the physical differences. All the Ford sites show me part number JL7Z-19G490-F is the correct camera for my year, but after removing the camera to install the washer spray, it is clearly not. I had to order LB5Z-19G490-E to get the correct camera for my late-build '23.

Ok, after searching and finding some info on other vehicles, I found the method that worked.

Actual camera swap is pretty easy. The darn clips in the rear trim are fragile so go easy. I still broke a few so if anyone knows the part number for replacement clips, i would appreciate that.

Back in the car, if you turn it on and shift to reverse, the camera does work. But you will be missing the lines on the screen.

Booting up ForScan, you will have an error in the BCM.

Navigate to service procedures and under BCM you will find “Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration”. Run that and should be good to go. Vehicle needs to be in Park and on a level surface when you run this procedure. Only takes about 30-60 seconds to do.

And that's it. Pretty simple. Going about it a 2nd time i could bang this all out in under 15 mins. I might buy another camera now for down the road just in case pricing on them goes up.

But if you are ever tempted to wipe your camera when covered in road salt...try to resist. I did install the rear camera washer on my '23 at the same time as swapping out the camera to try and help with this in the future.

And these were the clips I broke. I did take this trim panel off 2-3 times for the camera washer install, so i'm sure that was the cause of them breaking now.

The 10mm bolts do a good job holding the panel on, but i'd like to grab some new clips to make it a tighter fit. The parts diagrams don't show these as a separate items but I'm sure there is some part number for these clips as a general item.
