Refueling Issue

I bought my 2020 ST on Saturday and the salesman had an issue filling the gas tank up to max capacity before I left the dealership. I didn’t think much of it since it only had 7.5 miles on it - I figured it would work itself out. 350 miles later, I went to fill up and was experiencing the same issue. While I read the manual and now know not to stick the fuel nozzle in fully, my tank will only fill up to about 3/4 capacity. Has anyone else experienced this?

No issues here but maybe try a different fuel station next time. My trade in was a 2016 Ford Edge AWD which had a similar issue but only at Costco. I had to partially insert the nozzle and hold it to avoid backpressure triggering the pump to shut off. Never had an issue anywhere else, so I assume it was Costco pumps were a little sensitive. So far no issues with ST in 6 months.

No problems here either. I agree with the post above, try another station.

UPDATE: I just drove it and the fuel gauge actually went up while driving. It’s now about 1/16 from full. The mileage until empty also went up - if this mileage is correct, it means there’s about 16 gallons in the tank after this morning’s fill up. I may take it into the dealership tomorrow morning.

Don't forget your distance to empty is always different depending if your driving conditions

Make sure the nozzle is straight pointed in line with the direction of the filler. If your nozzle is twisted and is turning towards either side too much, then it keeps stopping to fill.
