Here in NH 87 is $3.15 93 is $4.25 it’s outrageous. That being said I run 93 unless my wife fills it.

Been scrolling through replies, been using 87e10, curious of the difference between 90e0 and 93e10 if anyone had tested

C16 is leaded so it doesn't like cats or oxygen sensors. It is also much more corrosive to your fuel system.

Yep, running less than quality "top tier" whatever from the big names and highest available octane in your area is doing dis-justice to the ST. It's a must if tuned to run what your tune specifies as well of course. I threw a few bottles of octane boost/improver in the back just in case I'm somewhere that I can only get 91 with my ZFG 93 tune. Even so I'd probably put it in Eco mode which was untouched by the tune and deal with the loss of performance for safety.

I believe the PCM would be able to make the necessary adjustments if you had to fill up and only 91 was available. I don't think the difference between 91 and 93 is significant enough to cause any real adverse affects.

Help! A lot of back and forth. NC has 87, 89, and 93 readily available. The 2025 ST recommends 91 to achieve the full 400 HP. Best I can tell, the HP/performance difference in any of this is somewhat negligible. I can experiment but is 93 worth it... or should I just put in 87 and go with it. I'm 47 and can have a heavy foot and love to drive, but I'm also 47 now and it is becoming less important, lol. Thanks!

Performance is likely one of the reasons you purchased an ST, meaning you didn't buy an economy car. Why would you handicap it's potential before you ever hit the road? If 91 isn't available, run the 93.

Amen, Brother! Unfortunately here in Nor Cal, there is no 93 octane. Watered down 91 is the best you get.

I get that, but the member I responded to, listed 93, 89 and 87 as his options. 91 is all Ford is asking for, it's the best we have available in my area, too. I believe that's the fuel they used to get their 400 HP rating.

These debates always amuse me. They were common in Mustang forums too. To get Ford's advertised power, run the highest octane you can. People buy models with GT, ST, or Sport in the name, then complain about cents per gallon. I'm not aiming this at anyone here, I just don't get it. I haven't run less than 93 octane in 7 years.

If that's a problem, buy a KIA minivan and enjoy life. I remember the 90s, when V6S and V8S would rattle with and knock on 87. It was always run what you need, not to have a knock, regardless of power output. It isn't good for the motor! If you have a forced induction vehicle, run 91 or 93!!!
