Part is easy to find, should require no programming out of the box. Ford part is either # R1MZ7P155J or # R1MZ7P155E Check with your Local dealer or order online but price ranges from 150 to 250.

Its probably best not to mess with the internals of that rotary switch. A replacement can be had and that will insure safe continued use.

When I did my update the price was 109.00 for the download and 149 for the USB. Just keep in mind what I paid out in my first post resetting you system will help make sure it works the first time

aside from disassembly of the center console I do not think it would be exceptionally hard to change these out. Replacement parts are available for both of these the Gear Shift is around 170 and the Mode switch is around 100 bucks. I found them pretty quickly online so you should be able to as well!

Holding the specific buttons to enter test mode and setting the screen to use the ST or Lincoln interface only lasts till you restart the vehicle and then has to be repeated. I do not believe there is a way to change it permanently.
