25 ST Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power

At times on other Ford forums and on other car brand forums, there is a company customer service rep monitoring the forum. This person reaches out to help customers who are having problems with their new car and acts as a intermediator with the dealership. Seems like this person is needed here...

    (ANSWERED) - 4WD vs snow?

The Explorer ST is mainly rear wheel drive until slip is detected. Called Intelligent four-wheel drive by Ford. By going into Slippery mode the system will regulate power and traction control. You have a screen in the dash where you can see the power distribution between the rear and front axles.

    Rear Wiper Sag

Honestly, in the winter the wiper gets iced over with snow after using the rear window defog and is barely usable. In extreme cold temps as in -30 C or lower I have even had the wiper blade snap off trying to clean it. Just plain sucks!

2021 Ford Explorer ST .... The neverending nightmare?

Not sure if you still have the original battery but you should have it checked. These sorts of issues have been reported when the battery is not able maintain the proper voltage. Good luck with the dealer.

Need Some Assistance WIth My Exhaust Conundrum.

The dealership was well aware that the pervious owners mods would not be for everyone, thus limiting the possible customers for that ST. Sales manager to his staff "Don't tell them about the sound of the exhaust unless they ask about it." I hope you get it sorted out.

    Engine Oil

A thread about oil can evoke all sorts of emotional responses. You can spend high or low on oil depending on the brand. Best option is to use 5W 30 as required by Ford and change sooner than what the oil life monitor indicates. I don't think you can go wrong with Mobil One, but would 70,000...

    2025 ST from Idaho

From what I am reading the 2025 ECU has not been cracked yet.

    Police Interceptor Wheels

The problem is trying to buy 21" winter tires is very expensive. Plus the wear and tear on the 21" wheels over a winter season. Although the 18" wheels look "cop like" they really are the best bet for serous winter driving. One hit to the wallet for the full set of 4 with tires and someone is...

    Police Interceptor Wheels

Well they are never going to look as good as the original wheels. Winter where I live is brutal so they serve a purpose and all season tires don't cut it. The gap is a little wider but again this set up is about safety and preserving the nice stock wheels.

    Welcome to the 50K club

So there really is no fix for the blue screen from what I am reading. I have received two recall notices on this issue but I have not seen the problem yet. Really don't want to hand the ST over to dealer for a problem I don't have. A 2022 with only maybe 8000 miles on it. Not sure that I will...

    Debating on Fords Extended Warranty

Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.....Ask them to drop up a few hundred before you sign anything. In my experience, you will not be disappointed.

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

A battery tender under hood is standard in cold climates like the NWT. Similar to Alaska. Combined with a block, or oil pan heater, there are no problems in winter. Today it's -32C and if the car was not plugged in overnight I would only be reducing the life of the battery.
