No, Ford said it's normal.

Update #3: The ST is back, the brake hasn't been touched and until there's a recall or it gets worse the dealer can't (won't) do anything. On the plus side: drivers door is working and the seat rattle seems to be gone.

Update #2: Another mechanic has looked at it and now they're pulling "it's a normal operation noise" again.

Well... update: I'm getting a replacement solenoid/actuator installed today by Ford but it's been a round-about way to get here. Our Explorer has been at the dealer for a month because the drivers door would not open and we refused to drive it for safety reasons. I had to involve Ford Canada...

After 5 days at the dealer they are still unable to fix the door. I have an open case with Ford Canada about it and have been provided with a loaner ('19 Escape) as I a car with a drivers door that won't always open is a safety issue.

Oh great, now the dealer has "no record" of a brake module being ordered. I should have known better than to trust a phone call with the service manager.

Since getting the ST on August 31st we've been waiting on some trim pieces that were damaged on delivery, we've got the infuriating brake module / solenoid grind that's waiting on warranty, we're dealing with an intermittent (but persistent) rattle from the rear seats and New Years Eve the...

My dealer gave me a some immediate warranty work for damaged trim parts they had missed during detailing pre-delivery. Still waiting for everything to "come into stock"...
