If you were as experienced as you claim to be, you would know that the majority of engine wear occurs during cold starts. Getting oil pressure up faster absolutely helps to mitigate this wear, and acting like that is a worthless pursuit just shows your lack of understanding.

No one is trying to convince you that it's "needed". These engines don't "need" anything to do 125k mi besides oil & filter changes. The question is: will it provide some benefit? If startup clatter is reduced on every start, then yes it does.
