Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Maybe. It's not dramatic. But, I can definitely hear a difference in noise that maps to the time period where logs show very low oil pressure. I'm still shocked that we can't all agree that the less time an engine spends running with low oil pressure, the better. This is a fundamental truth in...

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Do as I say, not as I do? My claim: when an engine is running with insufficient oil pressure, excess wear occurs. Therefore, you should minimize the amount of time spent running with insufficient oil pressure. Your rebuttal: That is idiotic. You have no proof.

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

I'm a shill? I don't even own one of their products. Unbroken has explained nothing. Being "in the race car industry" doesn't just make him right. "He is locked in", WTF does that even mean? Show me how I have "moved the goalpost" once. Be specific. I'll wait.

[No data with sound reasoning] > [No data + feelings]

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Right, you keep saying "I don't believe", while given no justification for that belief. Plenty of these engines have failed over the years. It is essentially impossible to accurately point to the causes for the failure, let alone catalog that data across all the failures. Absence of evidence...

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

It sounds like you don't understand how engineering works. Acceptable ≠ optimal You refuse to answer a question, because the answer undercuts your weak argument, so you call it "idiotic" instead. Pretty childish.

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

You just love talking about yourself huh? Again, your "stats" have nothing to do with this conversation. You keep adding them in to make up for a lack of actual information or reasoning. You also love to talk in hyperbole. According to your logic, either the oiling system is "perfect", or all...

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

If you were as experienced as you claim to be, you would know that the majority of engine wear occurs during cold starts. Getting oil pressure up faster absolutely helps to mitigate this wear, and acting like that is a worthless pursuit just shows your lack of understanding.

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

What's your point? I don't care about how many datalogs you have taken. We are talking about a specific topic, not about you and how experienced you think you are. Are you really arguing that getting oil pressure up as soon as possible is not important?

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Obviously engines make all kinds of noises. The question here is (and I thought this was really obvious at this point): is the amount / amplitude of the noise at idle higher the instant it starts up, compared to 3-5 seconds later. Since words don't seem to be landing with you, here is data...

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Sounds like it does make additional noise on startup and you "aren't concerned".

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

Remote start it while you are outside the vehicle, after it has sat overnight.

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

No one is trying to convince you that it's "needed". These engines don't "need" anything to do 125k mi besides oil & filter changes. The question is: will it provide some benefit? If startup clatter is reduced on every start, then yes it does.

Baxter Performance spin on filter adapter

How could you possibly assign causality to one thing, like the cartridge filter, on something that will very slowly cause additional wear? It's a pretty ridiculous ask. Just listen to your engine when it starts up. I hear excess clatter, that quiets after maybe 3 seconds. That is additional...

2025 ST test mules for forascn changes

Anybody made headway with FENG / propulsion sound? I swear with it disabled in APIM, there is still some piping into the rear speakers.

2025 ST test mules for forascn changes

Just to add my experience: I tried enabling the approach lighting and found a big reduction in touch-door-handle-to-lock sensitivity. This was very similar to what happened after enabling walk-away-lock. Reverting the changes brought the sensitivity right back. Not worth it for me to have to...

    Best Oil Catch Can

What you don't seem to understand is that a PCV system uses intake vacuum to continuously draw crankcase vapor out, and replace it with fresh air, during part throttle operation. This helps remove all kinds of bad things from the crankcase. Running a vented catch can completely defeats this. It...

    Best Oil Catch Can

It sounds like you don't understand how a PCV system works. Do some research and it will make more sense.

2025 ST test mules for forascn changes

After software updates were applied, it seemed better for a little while. But, pretty quickly it was back to the same inconsistency of walk-away lock, and a real desensitization of the handle touch locking. I reverted the changes in Forscan, and the handle locking immediately feels better. Weird.

2025 ST test mules for forascn changes

Ford is coming out to apply all available software updates to my ST on Monday. I figure I will wait until those are applied to see if the behavior changes, before I revert.
