Hi.. I had to take my 22 ST to the dealer because of rattiling which they fixed but when I picked it up the dash icon for set speed on the cruise wouldn’t go away so I couldn’t reset the display to center the speedometer it was on the left side of the screen, what the tech is telling me is that ford has an update and the speedometer is now only on the left something with the front collision avoidance and that the only way to center it was to disable the collision avoidance ??? Anyone had anything like this ?

Yes, in order for the speedometer to be centered, the lane keeping and distance recognition system must be off.

Just tap the button on the end of the turn signal stalk to move it back.

There is also a button on the steering wheel for the lane keeping assist, which is in addition to lane centering.

The button on the turn stalk is for lane keeping. When off it will center the speedometer. The button on the steering wheel is for lane centering, which is a function only available when using adaptive or intelligent cruise.

I never understood why the speedometer (with lane keep on) appears on the left side of the display, seems most other Ford products it’s on the right side. I find my left hand instinctively often seems to rest near the 10-o’clock position sort of blocking the view...to bad there’s not an option to reconfigure the position (for when lane keep is on.)

Oh well, just one of those oddities I guess.

I've never been able to center my speedometer no matter what I do. It's always on left in all modes, without cruise/lane assist on or off. I prefer the dual gauge sport mode look with speedo and Rpm left and right. Seems like it should be more customizable, like center or dual gauges available in at least normal.

You have to have both the lane assist feature off and the distance indicator feature. Then it will move to the center. The distance feature is whatever but I definitely like fords lane assist feature. Works very well and hardly noticeable when working.

Thanks, I was just pressing the X off button on steering wheel. I didn't think I needed to fully disable the cruise distance feature in the assist settings.

Hold down the traction control button until "advanced trac control" turns off. Speedo will be in the middle now

Ok but can it be centered with advanced track on? I seem to think that when I bought my 22, I could change positions of the speedo gage simply by using the button on the end of the turn signal stalk and now I can’t.

Nope. Basically lane keeping has to be off and speed distance recognition both need to be off. Unfortunately.
