I just recently bought an Explorer ST but have been trolling the boards for a while. Among the mods on my wish list, a roof wrap stands out as a starter. Has anyone done this locally?

Thanks!

Hi Busychild - I'm in McKinney as well and have reached out to several local providers with little feedback. I'm also looking for the roof wrap. I've also been looking for some good local installers let us know if you find any reliable sources. I'll be sure to share as well.

Will do. As I heard already on this forum, we should get a meet together!
As a side note, I've done most of my car suspension work at Texas Track Works in Fort Worth. When I get springs and a sway bar, I'll have them do that work.
I may tackle the intercooler installation myself, but I have a little to no understanding of Forscan and tuning ::shrug::

I have Promto Muffler here in Mckinney doing my borla and rear sway bar today. Price was right. I'll let you know how they do. Intercooler and CAI are on my list next. I found a few shops locally that are willing to do that for a reasonable rate. Still need to find someone to install the springs and do the alignment. I got a quote for $600 for both which isn't too bad.

I grew up with Pronto Muffler in Plano, back in the 80's/90's. I was glad to see their Mckinney location on 380.
Post pics; let us know how it goes.

Requested a couple of quotes and this is what I got back. Mine is a panoramic sunroof and asking for gloss black roof complete with wing and C pillar.

Web Wraps - quoted $700 ballpark, Avery
Tony's Auto Salon - $2000, 50% deposit and 2 days needed, Avery or 3m

Maybe these are both sides of the spectrum?
Plenty of places to get quotes and references from.

When I get back from Chicago, I'll send them some pictures of the panoramic roof.

Sounds good. Thanks for Sharing Busy.. Pronto got the exhaust and rear sway bar installed for $285 which I didn't think was too bad at all. Rear Sway bar is nice. Makes a big difference even on stock springs. Highly recommended! ZFG Tune arrives next week.
4x4 shop near me is doing the springs and alignment next week for $640.

How is that tune? From lurking on this site, I will wait till I get the intercooler installed before tuning.
I also got my Forscan stuff in, but I must say, I am skittish about installing and messing with this stuff.

As always, looking forward to a meet!

Hi Busychild - I didn't get an alert on this response.
So the tune is still in the final calibration phase but its well worth the spend. The vehicle just runs better all the way around. Everything is smoother and feels more refined. I have the intake and Whipple on the list but want to get the roof wrap and bottom plastics painted first. Then it's wheels and back to motor.
I'm researching the Forscan stuff too. I'm looking to kill the piped in noise and turn on the active noise cancelation. I'm hoping you can switch what mode the vehicle starts up in too if possible. Haven't been able to find out if it can swing that yet. Other than that I am not even sure exactly what all you can Change in forscan. I think you can change beeps and stuff like that.
I'm happy to connect and let you ride in the truck to see what you think about the tune first hand

Sounds good. I was able to mess with Forscan and got the hang of it.

I disabled the horn honk upon exit and the enhanced exhaust sound this last week. It is pretty quiet in the cabin now.

Once I get my RSB, I will have Pronto to do the work and install the exhaust also. I wonder if the sound will be louder than yours since it is second hand.

I can hear my Borla S for sure. Its not too bad though. No drone that i've noticed so far. Nice grumble to it especially at low RPM. So the Forscan was fairly easy to learn?
Which exhaust did you get?

Borla S-Type, black tips.
I got the OBD to USB from Amazon and bought the Forscan extended license online. I installed the software and drivers like normal.
Once I saw how to read and make changes (change to disable) and then write the changes, I was a bit more confident. I made sure to disconnect the software, car and then cable correctly, just to be safe.

LOL..You have great taste. I have the same color and bought the same exhaust with black tips.
Did you need to buy the extended license on Forscan?? It recommended that a normal user not purchase/utilize that unless a qualified tech. I was hoping the standard license would let us accomplish the basics we are adjusting.

I don't know if I had to...It wasn't too much to sweat over.

I also realized this is the 2nd most replies in this sub Forum.

(We are also off the topic lol)
