Recently rebranded Ford Racing (previously Ford Performance) has released their 2025 Explorer 3.0L tune. It is advertised to produce 445 HP @ 5,700 RPM and 515 lb. ft. Torque at 3,000 RPM. This is up from 430 HP @ 6,000 RPM and 467 lb ft torque @ 3,500 RPM that the 2020-24 Ford Performance tune produced. I dont think it’s a good choice for tuning, but it’s an option at least.

If someone wants mild and reliable, nothing wrong, I guess. Not too fond of the price though... They told me last year they would have it by December 2025 lol.

Wonder if it is still Livernois? And Id be curious how aggressive the shifts are in sport.

Interesting they upped the power despite the 25+ having smaller turbos and strictly 1 bolt rear as opposed to pre 25 ST's

The device is Livernois but the tune is reportedly from Ford.

The rumor on the stangs is that it was Livernois doing the tuning to FP's criteria. Just curious. It's almost like they were taking a Livernois tune and making it more reliability-based.

Which is odd cause the better LIvernois stuff isn’t unreliable at all.

That was a bad way to say it. The FP kit with larger mach TB put out less power than other tunes. But there was a warranty. People just assumed it was a slightly more tame Livernois. But until someone says that. Who knows…

Howdy Everyone and FYI:

This was just as I suspected, they are NOT available for California residents (49 States Legal) for the 2025 ST's. I went into the chat with them just now and evidently there are no current plans to develop one specifically for California use.

It has a CARB EO number, which is interesting. Still shows 49 state legal only still.

Livernois has already said that, and we all knew that already. It’s a canned tune so of course it needs to be really conservative.

Ah. When I put the larger TB and tune on my 2021 GT it was just talk and I haven’t paid any attention.

@2020FordRaptor :
Isn't that funny how this all works. CA has got some really crazy requirements and everyone here is sue happy also. Back in 2015 when Shelby American/HERTZ first came up with the idea of "re-releasing" the Black and Gold HERTZ SHELBY GT 350's, Shelby American had to hold up temporarily pending final CARB approval for issuance of the EO numbers for any cars destined for California.

Fast forward, over 2 years ago before I bought my ST, I found out that I could NOT buy a brand new SHELBY Super Snake Sport Truck outside of CA and bring it into CA due to the EO numbers surrounding the super chargers. I have seriously thought about getting the "49 State Legal" Tune kit out of state and have it shipped to a couple friends in Nevada. CA requires smog checks on a new vehicle after the 6th renewal cycle so I could enjoy this added performance for about 4-5 years before that first smog test.

BTW: I refused to pay the FORD dealers inflated prices for the Super Snakes Sports so I settled for an ST.
