Why Didn't I Get An "ST" Logo Fab? A 2025 Letter to FORD CEO

Its sad that an American or so called American car company is so cheaping out on the top of the line cars they make ! I jave a 22 and am lucky to have most of the things that have disappeared. Lets name all the things that have disappeared, plus its didnt get any cheaper .
Massage seats, rear heat n ac controls, the front ac controls used to show the degree number of each sides settings. Alot of people didnt get the plastic pieces that go in the back on the sides , the shades on rear windows... I know i missed stuff . I dont get how major manufacturers do not get that cutting stuff out on a majorly popular and the top of the line for they rtpe of car turns people off !!! Like everything else it comed down to the bottom line .... The dollar !!!

I know two guys at the local dealer where I get my Fords. When buying this one, and paying $365 extra for the keypad, it appears Ford is bringing them back for 2026 as a factory option. I get some removals, but don't let the bean counters do everything. This was almost a $60k car, and you worried about a back plate on a remote, and a B&O speaker label? I bought an ST, not a Platinum, because I wanted an ST. This is my 3rd ST.

I do this sort of stuff for a living. You'd have to spend time scanning/designing it, test-printing a prototype, and then printing it from a good (not PLA) material. There still some time involved...and you don't want to see my hourly rate for design work.
Would be cheaper to buy a used key and swap the back plate.
Now if you wanted to program it, 2025+ guys need to be careful with frequency, but this key would program fine for a '20-24 model. Seller even supplies a blank key that you can take to local locksmith to cut if you wanted. There are way more on ebay in this price range. I paid under $50 for my GT500 (snake logo) key

I 100% agree with your comment about Ford upgrading to Brembo Brakes for the ST's. My 2017 Mustang I4 Ecoboost Premium Coupe came with the stock Mustang front brakes. While it was at Shelby American, LVN to be converted to a SHELBY GTE, I received a call from my Shelby Sales Guy. He was inquiring if I wanted the Ford Performance Pack Brembo Brakes they had just taken off the GT Mustang on the next hoist. "Hell Yes" was my answer!! Believe me, those Brembo's provide a world of difference stopping you and my I4 Ecoboost only had 345HP after Shelby got done with their build.

Not much at all really. Peanuts per print. $1-2 per print tops assuming a large enough bed area. Key is doing this prints on a high end printer, and not with PLA.
I figure 1 hour with CAD, print a sample, and maybe 1-2 revisions. Maybe 2-3 hours of NRE not including print time for the prototypes.
I'd say to make it worthwhile you'd probably want to sell min of 30 at $20 each (plus shipping) to break even with labor, filament and other costs. Napkin math of course.
I can't do this unfortunately. I'd have to use work resources and it's sorta frowned upon.

We have been traveling and near the end of November we finally ordered our ST FOBs. Wow, they arrived today!! My wife joined the FB Explorer ST Group and she found out about Sayville Ford in Sayville, New York (631-589-4800, Ext 354, 352, or 337) They charge $52.11 for (1) one Keyless Entry Transmitter, Part # KT4Z-15K601G so we ordered two with shipping to Sacramento area for approx $26. These new "ST" FOBs come complete, except for the valet key, even include the button battery.
As for changing out the FORD Oval backplate for the newer "ST" backplates, I am not quite as fast as @Combatvet : I probably took 15 second on each FOB.
