* If he lived thru that winter in the hell of the Ardennes, he was a hero.

@jeffreybehr : Thank you and yes, he definitely was!! Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and the 101st Airborne was awarded the Blue Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon from General Eisenhower (Ike personally met with the troops).

Back in the day:
When I first started my LEO Career, the "Junior" Officers were assigned the "Blues Brothers Dodge 440's" aka 1974 Dodge Monaco 440's. The more Senior Officers drove the newest innovations, the 1976 Le Mans Wide Track Pontiacs (they turned out to be horrible, Pontiac totally got out of the LEO Vehicle game in 1979).

I cannot find a pic of my Department's 440 Dodges from that era so here is a more recognizable image of a CHP cruiser.

@Rky Mtn ST : God Bless ya if this was you! In 2009 I had major hip post car accident surgery for collateral damage and they gave me strict verbal warnings!!!! Sorry, I had to laugh as soon as I saw this. Memories . . . . . . If it was for real, I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for you back to your normal self.
