I hit a deer in my Honda Passport back when I was living in Virginia and though I still had some damage to the grill, it was alot less than if I hadn't had a grill gaurd!

Got any pics of it? I had an Isuzu Rodeo which was the same car.

In what way does the black horse grille guard mess with the sensors? Does anyone know?

Mounting bracket is blocking the sensor, I rewired mine. Have not yet found a good way to mount them to the grill gaurd

What about something like this? Most of these sensors are the same size. Drill a few holes, mount them inside and done. Be sure to paint the bare metal.

I've seen that, I saw someone has used this for the sentina grill guard and worked. My only complaint (at least with the black horse grill guard) there's no location for screw holes that would require drilling into the steel structure.
Could probably mount it to a nylon sheet/plate and drill a large hole and mount it to the bolt on the mounting bracket.

Hmm interesting. I guess I'd need to see it in person to understand more. Did you need to cut plastic in the grill or bumper to get the guard to fit? Minus sensors...im down for minor trimming, but don't want hack up everything lol. I wish they sold only the center section without the head light guards.

My latest pic, I get that its not for everyone but I love a utilitarian do anything go any where type of vehicle. That was the foundation the explorer was built on 30 years ago and thats how I will always feel about these.
