Since June is ending, figured I'd post this one for you guys! Introducing the “Walk Away Lock” feature for the 2025+ Explorers (ALL TRIMS)! For those interested in adding the “Walk Away Lock” feature with audible feedback lock, keep reading!

Link to video, as I am unable to upload videos to this forum: Enable Walk Away Lock w/ Audible Feedback (25+ Explorers only)

As always, make a backup before doing this.

1. To enable “Walk Away Lock”, write each of the following values to the truck and cycle on/off after each value is changed individually:

-BdyCM: 726-89-01 -> x1x1-x1x1-x1--
-BdyCM: 726-89-02 -> x1x1-x1x1-x1--
-BdyCM: 726-90-01 -> x1x1-xxxx-xx--
-APIM: 7D0-09-05 -> xxxx-Cxxx-xx--

2. After the last value is written to the Explorer, you will see "Walk Away Lock" greyed out in to Settings -> Vehicle -> Locks in your infotainment screen. Don't worry about it, it's because Ford never intended the Explorer to have this feature but it will still work!

Once confirmed, disconnect the Explorer from FORScan and turn off the Explorer. Close the door and walk away a few feet, you will see and hear that the Explorer is locked after a few quick seconds of walking away.

That’s it, you’re good to go!

**Confirmed working on 2025 Explorer Active, ST-Line, ST and Platinum

I’ve had tons of rental cars with that…never could make myself trust it. Our house doors have it built into the electronic locks…I still do it myself. lol

Haha you’re not the only one. I had to test this for a few weeks before I did a how-to. These newer Fords have quite a few bugs and glitches hiding, you never know!

This is why even tho you can hear it locked when you walk away, I always look back and see if the mirrors folded too. Then admire the ST at the same time
