Afternoon fellas.
I'm happy to find a forum exists for this great platform. I picked up a new 2025 ST yesterday and am happy to joint the community.
I've been a member of various car forums for nearly 2 decades now and find them to be much more informative and community like than any social media based groups. 12 years ago now I joined MSF, a Mazdaspeed enthusiast forum that began my long love of direct injection turbocharged engines. I bought a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 new in 2013, joined the forum, and fell deep down a rabbit hole. From bolt ons to then a built motor daily driver making 500hp it has now transformed into a dedicated drag car, caged an all. It has the blown motor receipts to prove it too, unfortunately.
I bought the ST to replace another daily driver. So far I only have 65 miles on it, so I'm still babying it. That wont last long, I'm sure.
My background and love for the DISI engine in the Mazda's, predecessor to the EcoBoost that was found in Focus STs has kept me close to the newer generations of Ford based direct injection turbo engines. My drag car currently resides inside of the shop at Damond Motorsports. While not technically part of the company, I have been helping with R&D and track testing parts for them for a decade now. If you've come to the Explorer platform from the Focus ST or RS platform, you may be familiar with us. This is in now way a promotion, just my background. Feel free to check out the DM youtube page to see videos of my fail MS3.
For now, I will be lurking like any good forum newb should. Eventually, I'm certain I will begin posting more ideas and modifications as I further familiarize myself with the platform. There is no doubt we'll get it into the shop for some development, and if the market is right, parts production for the platform may be an option.
I am sure a few of my MSF/Nator bretheren have made there way to this platform, if you recognize me, say what's up with your ExplorerST username.
If anyone has suggested reading on here, or suggestions on best things for a new owner to know, drop a link or some info.
Happy to join a new community with what seems like a good knowledge base so far. Obligatory shitty pics of stock vehicle attached.
