2025 Explorer ST. I took my car in last Wednesday for oil change and recall for Powertrain Control Module software update. I had them pick up car and return it, which is
pretty nice. After car arrived back home I started looking at the invoice and see that they had not put in the Full Synthetic Oil that I had requested but used the synthetic blend. I've
used full synthetic oil ever since it came out in all my vehicles. I called the service manager and he threw the lady I talked with (under the bus) when I called in the work order and was
very specific with her on type of oil. Now today, I figured I better check oil level and found they had not replaced the cover over the top of the motor. I've called service manager and am
awaiting his return call. This not the first problems I've had with the service department. This might not be a problem for some but with me its a matter of trust. I guess I will have to go back
to changing my own oil, I know this dealer ship won't see anymore of my business.

Pretty hard to get that trust back once they drop the ball like that. It's all in the details, aim small miss small. Can't blame you a bit, I'd be the same.

thanks for the reply's. I went into dealer's this morning because they haven't returned my phone call. Talked with service manager who I left phone message with. His first comment was I'll have
to check your vin number to see if your car has one. Now the car only has 4500 miles on it and I have the hood up ever 1 to 2 weeks and I know there was an engine cover over the motor. He
came back and said your car not suppose to have a engine cover. He would never admit that the car would have had one, just kept saying your vin number says your car doesn't have a cover.
It appears another item that Ford has deemed too expensive to put on the ST. I purchased my car in Sept. so had to be one of the early ones produced. He could have had the nuts to explain that
and admitted they have since been eliminated but had been on early model cars. Just another Ford dealer I won't be doing business with anymore. I know the cover is no big deal and probably a
lot of you remove it anyway but the the principal of it.

I test drove a few '25 ST's when they first came out last fall, and when i popped the hood on all (sometime I do with every car). none had an engine cover.

Sorry, my previous post was rhetorical. No model year ST came with an engine cover. Not mine ('23), not folks with the earliest of '20s, and none of the folks in this thread who have/have seen a '25.

Edit: did it look like this?

I have one of the first 2025s that was built in May of 2024, no engine cover. I don't even know how one could fit.

Check your jack points as well. Most crush them with the lifts.
The dealer crushed mine. I rebent and repainted and now leave them a note telling them to use the jack points

NONE of the Explorer ST's from any year's came with an engine cover nor did the Platinum's....Only side covers which was for 2020 only.

The 2.3 Explorer's however do, are you sure you dont have an ST-Line?

Did you pay for the oil change or was it one of the freebies? They will never add full synthetic oil on freebies, only synthetic blend which is how they arrive brand new from MFG
