For those who plan on adding paint protection film, are you guys doing full front end or partial?

My initial plan is to go with the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, door cups, side mirrors and even the top of the rear bumper. Is protecting the headlight worth it?

I had the following done:

Full Hood
front bumper
front black gloss trim
rocker panels
side black gloss trim
A, B, and D pillars
side mirrors
door cups
full rear bumper
door edges
inside door step up

I do quite a bit of highway driving and think it’s totally worth it to protect the paint from chips.

1400 for everything. Xpell was the brand.

i also had everything ceramic coated including wheels and calipers. This was an additional cost.

Man that's a great deal. What about the front fenders?

I actually didn’t get the fenders. I’m going to get them done at the end of the month. I have to bring it in once a month to upkeep the ceramic coating. It’s like a full detail and they reapply something for the ceramic coating.

Thanks, so my shop quoted me $2k including the two front fenders. I like your idea of doing the whole rear bumper and the pillars.

I did everything (front bumper/hood, mirrors, door handle, door sides, etc) on the ST with Expel and dealer charged me $1300.

Thinking about getting a paint protection film but worried about the Explorer lettering on the front hood. My local shop telling me they will remove the lettering to apply the film and then re-install the lettering on the film. Has anyone had it done this way or better to just apply the film around the front hood Explorer letters?

Xpel has a kit that will have pre-cut holes for the lettering. https://www.xpel.com/paint-protecti...Cars--AND--Light-Trucks/2020/Ford/Explorer/ST

I haven't had them reapply my letters either after getting clear bra. I too might leave them off. I'm at 5K miles now.

Can one of you gents with the front badging removed share a photo directly from the front? Would like a better view of the hood without the lettering.
