When you put the car in drive, does it take a second longer than you are comfortable with? If so, is there any way to adjust that? It feels like the timing is just too long.

I don't feel any lag on mine. And i'm sure there is no ajustment that you can make. Might have your dealer look at it.

I feel a slight lag only when I first startup for the day. Doesn't bother me as I figure its building pressure in the trans or something.

The transmission delay from reverse to drive on my '21 Platinum AWD is way too long and like you say, seems uncomfortably long.
In fact all transmission gear selections are too long and that's after a 60 second warm up when cold, or fully warmed up after driving.
