The concentration of people shopping for certain types of vehicles is a lot lower than those going to a specific-car enthusiast forum.

Also, there are people who drive without plates.
Hell, Steve Jobs would buy a new car all the time soe he didnt have to have a plate that someone could use to stalk him.

I'm sure we've covered plates for decades - for no reason at all.
