So i was reading the manual and not sure i follow. The recirculation button recirculates the air. Typically that is what i use in the hot days of Houston. Then there is the Max setting. What does that do? Is that where you hit that button and the recirc turn on and goes to high fan setting? Also, in my old car, if you had that set, you would have to reset every time you started your car. Meaning if you had recirc on you would have to turn it off and turn it on to start recirc again. also noticed that if you sent the temp at 60 the system keeps the fan the same. Click it one more level down, then you see Max setting. Which would turn the fan on high.
I guess max setting turn max fan and recirc on? Then you can adjust once you get closer to cooler
