This has happened a couple of times.
Driving to work in the morning on the highway and all of a sudden the GPS pointer is taking off thru the woods and running in big circles.
Usually fixes itself on a restart.
Good thing is that now I know that I can drive across a lake without sinking.

That has happened to me once. I was driving down the interstate and the pointer was way to the right of the road. It eventually corrected itself.

I see that on other things too. Sometimes my phone's GPS does weird stuff, other times at work when I have a bunch of trucks on scene at a call and one of them is randomly doing circles a block away but it's actually parked. Also seen trucks show up in the middle of the lake, and I can guarantee that none of our trucks are amphibious. GPS is glitchy stuff.
