How do you remove the Gear shift panel cover trim? Wife doesn’t know how to put a lid on a cup and got buttons sticky (auto start/stop and traction control). I’d like to get in there and clean it.

I can’t find any videos or anything on it. Just wondering how to from someone that has done it before.

Pretty sure the whole console has to come apart to get the top off.

This is why I haven’t taken mine apart to tap the ambient lighting into the cup holders on my Aviator rear console.

Lol I might be able to go off that. Doubt removing the seats is necessary. Thanks Wafer.

That unit pictured goes over the existing trim. Easy to install.

He's trying to clean under the trim, re-read the OP's post.
I did. He also pictured an overlay he is trying to install. Cleaning under the factory trim panels is not a requirement to install this overlay. Hence my response........

Not trying to install. Just remove this trim piece. I used the picture as an example what I was trying to remove. I didn’t reach out to the dealer because they will try to have me pay for something lol I ended up using a tiny flat head wrapped the cleaning cloth around it and getting in there. It was a temporary fix but noticed when it’s super cold out, it tends to stick. I will tackle it when I get more time off.
