Engine Knock

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2022 ST with7500 miles on it. I have been noticing a slight engine knock around 62-65 MPH. I have been running 87 octane fuel which the manual says is ok.
The manual also says and I quote
" Do not be concerned if the engine sometimes knocks lightly. However, if the engine knocks heavily while using fuel with the recommended octane rating, contact an authorized dealer to prevent any engine damage."

Should I be concerned? Should I switch to 89 or 91 octane?

I don't think I can answer the question as to whether or not you should switch octane ratings. That said, it's easy enough to try it. Throw a tank full of Top Tier 91/93 fuel and see what it does.
