Do I need special lug nuts for the PIU rims?

I managed to score a set of used PIU rims from a 2020 without paying an arm and a leg. I'm confused as to why some are saying you have to get the PIU lug nuts as well, since the studs aren't being changed wouldn't the factory lug nuts work? Something I'm missing? Appreciate any insight.

No you don't, the stock nuts will work fine.
Those are secured with the stock lugs

How did you get the center caps over the stock 21" Performance Wheel lug nuts?

I had to buy the police wheel steel lug nuts at $5 each.

Torque specs on the Police wheels were a little higher than retail I think it was 110 ft lbs

They went on without a fight.
Get one corner of the cap on over the nut, then give it a good smack so it covers the rest

Thanks, after typing the post I figured it had something to do with the caps.

I figured it out, you guys have the new center cap design. I have the old one from CVPI.

Your's are the correct ones for that wheel, mine are not.

We should try to get the part numbers and post them here. I’m sure people have made this mistake
