BOV Question and also a "what's this thing" question

Hey everyone, I did some searching for my first question, and I read a lot of posts, but couldn't find the specific answer I was looking for.

Background for the 1st question: I have a 2020 ST (stock intake), which has a factory diverter valve. (I have learned that these were dropped 2021 and onwards.) I am looking at replacing the intercooler and hot/cold side pipes...and will go with either the TS plumb back or the dual port. My question is this: if I go with the dual port, it will vent to atmosphere. However, my understanding of these, in general, is that the MAF has already metered the air, and thus assigned fueling, so if I go venting some of that air to atmo instead of back to the intake, will that affect fueling commanded by the ECU? In other words, I'm considering the BOV, but I've always been under the impression that BOVs on MAF vehicles is not a great thing.

Follow-up question -- how obnoxious is the dual port vs the plumb back? Some sounds would be nice.

Second question. What brought all of this on is driving home tonight, the ST sounded like it had a BOV. I could hear the psst when I got off throttle in certain situations. Uh-oh, that's not normal. I found a hose disconnected. I originally thought it was the plumb back from the BPV/diverter -- however, after watching intall videos for the TurboSmart, it looks like that is located on the front of the engine, under the airbox. The hose I found disconnected is over on the driver side, on the intake for the turbo. Anyone know what it's for? I've included a picture with the item in question circled. You can just make out the disconnected hose below it.
