2025 Ford ST-Line - Inspection Problem?

My dealer couldn't get their Software (Safety Inspection Program) to "talk" to my ride. I guess that means their computer can't connect to my computer. They have a call into Ford for assistance. Anyone else have that problem?

Any other dealers near you, seems like the dealers fault.

Can you hook a standard OBD2 reader to it?
Haven't a clue. All I know is they had two different technicians do what they do all the time and it just wouldn't connect. Did they simply use WiFi? Did they use the OBD2 reader? Haven't a clue. I am going to give them a call Wednesday and see if they heard from Ford. If they haven't heard anything from Ford - I might follow 2020FordRaptor's suggestion (try another Ford Dealer). Fortunately, I don't have to get it inspected until the end of August.

I’m assuming they’re using FDRS going through the OBDII port.

If it's anything like my state inspection they connect the machine into the OBD2 port which looks for Powertrain DTC's and checks to see if the emissions monitors are complete. That's why i asked if a standard OBD2 code reader would connect as many have a "state OBD check" function that will tell you if you pass or fail. Would be a clue if this is an equipment issue, or something going on with the vehicle.

Based on what you've posted, I think they are having trouble communicating with the OBD2 port. This is a pretty straightforward, routine task, so I'm going to assume this is a vehicle issue that should be handled under warranty.

I stopped by and they said they go through the OBD2 port. They are still waiting on Ford. My puppy will be a year old in September and this is the first real problem I have had. Hopefully, they will hear something shortly. Thanks for your comments.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Just got a call from my Ford Dealer about my "inspection" problem. They heard back from Ford and Ford said my computer is working just fine. The problem has to be for my States Department of Vehicles Inspection Software provided. So, my dealer contacted DOT and guess what? They are having a problem with their software talking to the 2025 Ford Explorer!!!!!!! Apparently, my state provides the software to inspection stations? Anywho - they said to bring it in and my state is allowing a "temporary inspection" certificate while THEY try to provide a fix.
