Hello all,
As many of you know, in Ford's infinite wisdom to protect us stoopid huumans (mis-spelling intentional) from not draining the battery in our Ford products, they turn the (what is meant to be full-time) 12 volt hot off in the 7-pin RV connector unless very certain conditions are met. These include; having a trailer connected, starting the car, pressing the brake (or activating the turn signals), having the drivers door closed and the key inside the car BEFORE they energize the 12 volt in the RV connector. In my humble opinion this is quite silly and limits what we can do with the RV connector.
I was looking through the Forscan spreadsheet and I found several items that seemed interesting and thought I would reach out to the group to see if there is a setting that can be changed to make the hot wire on more often. Because the hot is controlled by a relay in the main fuse box I do not think there would be a way to enable the hot connector with the vehicle off, but maybe there is a setting to make the process of getting it to be hot less onerous.
Thank you for any help!
James
