2025 Explorer Teaser Ahead of Tomorrow's Reveal

The refreshed 2025 Tahoe looks incredible. Much like the Explorer, it really needed an interior refresh IMO. They knocked it out of the park. But my goodness, GM staying true to their roots and offering their entire line-up with the ugliest wheel designs of any manufacturer. If the wheels...

2023 Explorer images leaked (from China)

Any news or rumors as to whether or not this will more or less be what the US gets as the '24 Explorer? For the most part, I like the exterior changes (minus the tail lights), but that interior is heinous.

Explorer top selling three row SUV

Yep. Mazda is quickly becoming the brand for people who want a "driver's car". I just wish they had some more powerful offerings. The CX90 renderings have been very handsome. I'm not too fond of the CX70. Hopefully Ford doesn't screw the pooch with their refreshed Explorer, and hopefully...

Explorer top selling three row SUV

I actually really like all their designs, even the updated Palisade. The Korean cousins will put you to sleep driving them though. If you want to be completely isolated from any notion of "driving experience" ... than those are the cars for you.

Explorer top selling three row SUV

From the article: "For Explorer sales figures are comprised of the Ford Explorer and its police-duty variant, the Ford Police Interceptor Utility. In the past, Police Interceptor Utility sales were reported as a separate line item, but Ford is now folding its sales into the Explorer line item...

    ST vs. The Competition

I'm surprised they went with airbag suspension. There's just no way around them being unreliable. Even Toyota/Lexus, with their renowned reputation, have had plenty of issues with their systems once they rack up some miles. If you're leasing it, no problem ... but if you're keeping it long...

whoosh motorsports high flow catted downpipes

So while checking on my own local weather for the week, apparently you can also check past weather. According to WUnderground, for Charlotte, NC Int Airport (closest to have historical data): September 14, 2022: High 80*F/Low 60*F, Dew Point High 60*F/Low 53*F Charlotte, NC Weather History...

whoosh motorsports high flow catted downpipes

Those are some significant gains, but what was the temp & humidity like between those two runs? The initial pulls were done on July 25 and the DP pulls were done on September 14. I'd imagine it would be cooler during mid-Sept than during the dog days of summer. Obviously, it would still...

CRP Stage 5 Turbos and Nostrum Stage 1 install?

Pure700 Turbo Install! | Explorer ST Forum This thread is useful. OP's shop did it in 5hrs, Ford book time is 7hrs apparently. If you upgrade the turbos, I'd definitely do the downpipes while you're in there. Don't forget to take into account the need for a tune afterwards. XDI-HPFP...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Does it help the rattles if you have the sunshades up?

Rattle Diagnosed: Not what you think ...

How did you eliminate the flex pipe as not being the cause? I know Ford was simply replacing them with the same part that would rattle again. I don't know when, but they've since revised the design which supposedly doesn't rattle.

POLL: OEM 20" or 21" Wheels

Call me crazy, but I actually love the look of 18" wheels on these cars ... AKA, police interceptors look amazing to me when they're clean with some tire shine on them. If I do wind up getting an ST, I may look to go this route, though not with the same wheels. Handling might suffer, but ride...

    Ford to cut 8,000 jobs

By that same token, it means people who make decisions or are in charge of quality control and/or management (amongst other jobs) may be getting the axe as well. Oversight is worn razor thin as management is footed with supervising more tasks and/or people and things simply go South from there...

    Ford to cut 8,000 jobs

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a40669316/ford-layoffs-to-fund-evs/ Perhaps this is just clickbait, but what do you think this means for the future of ICE vehicles at Ford? I'm not looking to bash Ford for their decision. Cutting about 25% of your workforce is significant. Would it be safe...

    Pure700 Turbo Install!

@Kruppa , do you still have the stock transmission or did it give up at those power levels?

2022 ST arrived, do I really want it?

Very true, but by the same token, there are likely people out there who have problems who haven't reported it on the internet. I should have bought a TrackHawk back when you could actually get them for below invoice. I passed by a local Jeep dealer this weekend and saw a TH sitting out front...

2022 ST arrived, do I really want it?

I'm in a very similar boat, but I have not ordered mine. I've never owned a Ford product and am equally apprehensive after buying mainly GM and Japanese. I really like the way these new Explorers look and drive. The performance of the ST for the price is unbeatable. The next closest thing...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Dang. I'm considering an Explorer ST perhaps later this year, but the current rattles of my RDX have driven my crazy to the point where I would rather not be spending near $60k for another rattlebox. I'm definitely finding one without a pano sunroof (and massaging seats apparently). Would you...

    Interior creaks and rattles

I currently have a 2020 Acura RDX and it's also a rattlebox. One of the biggest offenders of interior rattles is actually the panoramic sunroof. Creaks, clicks, pops, rattles, ticks ... I wish it was optional and it's the reason I'll never own a car with a panoramic sunroof again if possible...
