Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Wow. That's horrible. Perhaps fortunately for me, my dealer never received the new bushing, so they have yet to perform the bolt recall. Maybe I'll sit this one out for a while longer. On a positive note, the new replacement rear camera has been flawless.

    Throttle Lag

I have experienced this as well. My theory is this has something to do with collision avoidance. If you accelerate quickly, then completely/significantly back off the pedal, particularly while turning, the throttle sometimes cuts out momentarily. And comes right back after a brief hesitation. I...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

My ST is at the dealership as I type, getting both the new camera and bolt/bushing recalls completed. The service manager said the bolt job was estimated at 3 hours. I'll provide an update when I have the work order in hand.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Found this video today. A brief explanation of the newer S23S55 bolt recall.

I do not want to be the one to test.

I'm guilty as well. Just a warning message as mentioned above.

    Used ST's

I didn't know I needed massaging seats until I bought the ST. Now I don't think I will own another vehicle without them.

    Used ST's

I'll try to address some of your questions. Hopefully with some accuracy. My '21 has a 20 gallon tank. I think all the STs have 20. Massage seats were available on all STs until the COVID production issues, sometime in 2022. I have them in my 21. I believe all the 20s and some very early 21s...

    Ford Performance Tune

I concur with Lopez. No regrets whatsoever. I think it took me longer to adjust to the new throttle response than it took the tune to settle in. You'll need a lighter right foot in traditional driving situations. Which is not at all a complaint!

    Ford Performance Tune

I bought my FP tune from Lethal. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

    Ford Performance Tune

In order to download the ProCal software and activate the device, you (or someone) needs to create an account with Ford Performance Parts. It looks like having access to this account is really what you want/need. From there, you should be able to download software or updates, even to another...

    Ford Performance Tune

I suspect you can, but I haven't done it. When you connect the ProCal to your computer for the first time, it initiates the software download procedure from Ford using a unique voucher code. I would think the software would recognize both the device and the tunes stored on the ProCal. I suppose...

    Ford Performance Tune

Yes. You can see the FP tune on the ProCal tool, which should be kept with the vehicle. However, if the ProCal software resides on the installer's computer (rather than your own) I don't know that you would be able to check for firmware updates, etc.

    Ford Performance Tune

No it does not show the current gear (unless in Manual mode.) I wish it did, though. [EDIT: I originally stated "unless in Sport mode," which is/was not accurate.] No changes to the dash configuration or any other features. Strictly a performance bump.

    Ford Performance Tune

I believe that Livernois manufacturers the ProCal device. But the FP calibration is done by Ford.

    Ford Performance Tune

The installation is straightforward. I'm summarizing for brevity, but you load and backup the stock tune to the ProCal tool. Then download and install the Performance tune on your vehicle. Both tunes are stored on the ProCal and can be changed very easily back and forth. Plug and play. The...

2022 ST Touch Screen Freezes ;-(

Glad to see another MA member. You'll be skiing soon enough! I can't answer your specific question, but if you hold down the audio power button and the FF double arrow button at the same time for a couple seconds, it will reboot the whole system. See if that does anything. This seems like...

    Sync 3 map update

I think there might be some new graphics in the various Settings pages. No new functionality. Just new images to coincide with each item. At least they're new to me.

    Sync 3 map update

There were some local highway exit numbers that had changed within the last couple years. The new maps have the updated exit number info. But other than that, no. To be fair, I haven't really done much driving since the update.

    Sync 3 map update

That looks like a screen shot from his Ford Pass app or account. I updated both my Sync 3 and new map update today. Between the two, there was several hours of download and installation time. It wasn't difficult, just LONG.

RESOLVED: Clicking: P to D (video)

If anyone is still seeking a possible solution to the clicking/clunking noise when shifting from Park to R or D, take a few minutes to watch this video. This guy seems to have both identified and fixed a common issue with 2020+ Explorers. It involves the CV axle and a simple solution. He also...
