Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

Can't believe I never noticed this before today. In photos the chrome strip almost makes it look like the DRL is on.

Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

So I did some research. You're somewhat correct. The base model Explorer has the amber DRL. They are not blacked out. However, it appears the white LED DRL strip doesn't exist. The headlight housing is a tad different, covering where the LED strip would have been. I can't say definitively that...

Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

I'm a little confused. It's "blacked out" on the housing? Wouldn't that also "black out" the front turn signals/hazards?

Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

So apparently 942 is a "Fleet Only" option. So this must have been a fleet XLT. Makes sense with the commercial tags. But still...this would mean the white LED strip is still there but inhibited at night. So strictly a DRL. I thought about it and I've never really seen it during daytime. So I'm...

Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

So there's someone with an Explorer driving around my general area has the PIU marker lights enabled even at night with the headlights. No white LED strip. No big deal, it must be a PIU I thought. Then I got a good look at it the other day. First thing that caught my attention was the chrome...

    Water Leak Inside

I have similar issues in my 20. First was water in the spare tire well. I fixed that one. Next was water in the Headliner. That's mostly fixed (sunroof drains clogged). Now it's in the driver and passenger footwells. This is the one that gets me. I can't find where it's coming from. It began...

After putting in gas car hesitates to start

I have the same issue. You should've gotten some codes and a MIL after one or two trips. I got P0496 and P0456, both related to the EVAP system. It's now a long crank after getting fuel and sometimes even stalls. But runs fine after that. I haven't fixed it yet, I still have warranty coverage...

Just picked up a Carlinkkit TBox running Android 12

They're roughly $108 on AliExpress. Bummer it only uses top of screen. That's my biggest gripe with Android Auto on the ST.

14 Speaker B&O front door rattle, vibration , ...not sure what to call it

Mine do the same. Mid range speakers in the door make horrible vibration on certain tracks. It's most prominent with speech, like with podcasts or just general talking. I think it gets drowned out with music. I'm debating taking the door apart to do the vibration damping or even change the...

    20-22 differences

I have a 2020 with a late 2019 build date. Right off the bat had transmission issues that began around 15k miles. Hard or late shifts mostly, especially out of 6th. One day I noticed a weird burning/overheating smell I've never experienced before. Two days later the transmission had a...

At which point should you use SLIPPERY Mode?

Not to ressurect an old thread but I concur with everyone above. I've used slippery and deep snow/sand modes in snowstorms before and it definitely helps with reducing wheel slip while accelerating. Looking at the AWD display it shows that while accelerating the power is balanced between front...

    Center console compartment lid removal?

Take the whole console out, it's not difficult. A few bolts and trim clips. Instructions are out there and in the service manual, which I suggest investing in. You can access the door/cover from underneath the console to remove. I broke it taking it out but it wasn't necessary to remove. I just...

    Transmission issues update

Well just an update. Finally got my ST back. They replaced the entire transmission. It took about 2 weeks to get the part in. I have to say I'm a little impressed that they went straight to full replacement and skipped piecemeal repair. I'm not entirely sure what the damage was, getting a...

    Transmission issues update

Well what I was afraid of finally happened. My 2020 ST transmission "ate itself" for lack of a better word. I've had the car for 10 months, never a problem. The owner of a Ford dealership had it before me, he retired at 78 and I bought the car with only 7k on it. Now with 18k on it I've started...
