    Those Who Have Upgraded Turbos!

I haven't done a swap on my Explorer, but have done swaps on other vehicles, and by virtue of its location, and everything in the way, it is going to be that involved. Many newer vehicles opt for dropping engine/tranny/subframe to do the bigger jobs.. Great if you have a lift or a way to get...

The Explorer ST Engine Build Begins!

Are you guys going to keep the deck the way it is and just upgrade the hardware and head gaskets?

Rear bumper cover help and questions

I think their actual name is POM rivets.. Most typical rivet guns can't place them, but I bet you could pick up a cheap version at Harbor Freight, if you're not planning on doing this more than once. I think the front bumper cover has a couple as well. Now removing the front bumper...

Rear bumper cover help and questions

I've taken off a few of these, not too hard. I don't believe it's feasible to try and remove the lower with the whole cover on the car.. I would recommend having someone there with you to help remove it so you don't drop and damage it further. Don't forget to unplug the bumper harness before you...

    Steering Creaking

I'd say visually check all of your suspension bushings for abnormal wear and check your struts for leaking. Even if the struts aren't leaking, doesn't mean they aren't bad.

    Service manuals

I know this is an old thread, but after some searching, I hadn't found anything recent. Are any of the aftermarket service manuals online worthwhile to purchase? I am mostly looking for engine teardown and build procedures, as well as electronics. I see a bunch can be downloaded, but I would...

The Explorer ST Engine Build Begins!

    Heads-Up Displays

Tried searching and only found threads from 2022. Does anyone have a HUD, and if so, what brand and how was the install?? Thanks!!

    6 Faults and AWD Module

Last night I had this issue come up.. First started out when I was backing out of my parking spot at work (hard 90deg reverse), car started binding and TC light came on.. I started driving and heard a couple loud clicks and then all of the lights and warnings came on. I manually disabled TC on...

    Steeda powdercoating question

Thanks!! I suppose I would have to have the springs done. Now, I need to see if I can get my ride looked at. Pulling out of my spot at work, "Traction Control" light came on.. I straightened out and started driving when I suddenly got 6 or 7 alerts, Hill Descent Assist, Lane Keep Asisist, ABS...

    Steeda powdercoating question

Gotcha.. I am leaning towards the PIU, mostly for that reason, but the roads around here are more like "urban off-roading" than typical roads.. I am about 30 miles outside of Boston and the road salt is absolutely destructive to cars and finishes. Do you know what the size of the aFe is?? Is...

    Steeda powdercoating question

Hey Guys!! New to Explorers and this forum but not new to cars.. Been reading a bunch about different mods and I have found a few posts regarding Steeda's powder coating not being very friendly to the northern-tiered states for purposes of corrosion. Would it be worthwhile to get one and have...

Question for a qualified flatbed/rollback operator

Most recovery guys I know typically go for the LCAs, provided they aren't covered in wiring or have hose brackets on them.. IF the car has the unibody holes, then those are optimal.. Sometimes, it depends on The situation..
