    Lowering Springs Pros and Cons

Agree that’s pretty bad! Took me three times including the dealer to find a guy that actually gave a shit and did it correctly after telling him about the inside adjuster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gas Treatment

Correct. I’ve got a boost gauge and even at 80 in cruise I see no boost until I hit a hill. One of the benefits of turbo over supercharging. While a blower gives you more instant power at lower rpm, it’s always using hp. Turbos make our cars like an economy car until you want more power. Sent...

    Gas Treatment

Nope. You get vacuum through the intake at idle. Once rpms start to build you will see vacuum turn to boost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gas Treatment

That was my technique in the past. Some of those higher mileage cars would really put a good smoke show after firing it up. No mosquitoes in the area after that! One reason I do it more frequently is hoping it stays relatively clean instead of crusty and less likely break off. I’ve seen the...

    Running too cool. Stuck tstat?

I think your temps are fine. I’m in the same range when driving normal. If I start having a little fun they get around 200-205. Temp drops with AC on because the fan runs all the time when the AC is active. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Gas Treatment

No worries. I did some research and also have a couple friends with high mileage DI motors (150k+) that swear by the stuff. I do run top tier gas but I also run some Techron through a tank every 10k or so just because I like to switch cleaners every so often. Probably overkill but it’s cheap...

    Gas Treatment

Not this product. It is sprayed into the intake and definitely hits the back of the intake valves. It was introduced specifically for direct injection engines so it does clean the intake valves. IIRC I use a grommet just before the throttle body. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Gas Treatment

Not seafoam but I run CRC GDI cleaner every 15-20k. Helps to keep the intake valves clean. I’ve seen lots of direct injection engines needing mechanical valve cleaning around 80-100k. I’m not really interested in blasting the intake with walnut shells if I can avoid it. Sent from my iPad using...

Couldn't find the 'what have you done...' thread, so here's my '23 up on QuickJacks for the first time...

I bought the 6000 a few years ago. I ended up getting the standard length and it barely reached the jack points on my St and wife’s MB. Ended up buying the extension tray that fits on top. Gives plenty of room to reach jack points. If I were getting one today I would get the longer version. I...

    Old man Platinum HUMBLED

I used to road race a buddy with an R8 back around 20012-16. I was pushing 750hp in my CTS-V. I could gain a little in the straights but he ate me up in the twisties. I would imagine the R8’s have improved a lot in ten years. I always liked them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How to avoid the brittle valve recall test?

It’s like a free license to beat your car. I’m not having them do it to mine. I’ve had quite a few fun long drives that I beat on the ST pretty hard. If it goes, it goes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What Did the Wife Do to the Explorer ST Today

My wife had to drive my ST for a few days while I had tint and ppf done on her new MB. Managed to curb rash a couple wheels on mine[emoji23]. Primed them but waiting for sub 97 degrees to airbrush the black on. Never curbed her own wheels, just mine. When I asked her how it happened she just...

    Strut body cap

Was also thinking if it were meant to be removed, why include it in the first place. It doesn’t appear to perform any type of protection during shipping. You know the penny pinchers would eliminate it to save the ten cents[emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
