    Cold Air Intake status?

WTF is DW? or Premier? I'm confused as well.

    Good clean humor and jokes

Oddly enough, two weeks ago, I did hit my pinky toe- on the leg of the ottoman. When I looked down, it was bent away from the other toes at a 90 degree angle. That, my friends, was very, very painful. I sat on the couch, put my foot up on the ottoman and slowly pulled it away from my other...

The most unintelligible Ford craigslist post ever....

I'm usually more interested in the engineering aspects of our vehicles, but occasionally interested in sharing something funny. Take a look at this: https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/thorn-hill-urgent-trade-neededmy-250/7360837972.html

    Towing limitations for boat

Rated for 5600 lbs. But I'd agree with post above, take it easy in tow mode and you should be fine. But, if the Mustang is a manual, you could use the tow dolly and be under the weight limit.

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

I'm only trying to point out that the actual problem MAY not be the bolt on the isolator. Sure, the bolt was broken, but wasn't a half shaft and the prop shaft replaced as well? Based on it happening a second time in three weeks, and the low number of cases (two?) that the sheared bolt might...

    Transmission/Shifting Stall !!!!!!!

I don't think @sleekone problem is the same as the original poster's problem. It doesn't seem like the car "bogs", from what I can tell from the video, looks like bands are completely slipping, it's not shifting correctly at all. That doesn't mean they aren't related to some electrical problem...

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

If we look at this from an engineering perspective...stop thinking Ford did this on purpose to save a buck so they could possibly be out thousands of $ for warranty claims. So, with that in mind, in both the double and single isolators, looking at my vehicle, this seems to be designed to...

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

Trying to move stuff from ZFG thread regarding the rear differential support problem. bluesnake01 said: Yeah, different design altogether. Knowing Ford tho, pretty sure there was next to no testing on the newer design to see how it holds up. As @rjacobs said, could probably not be a huge deal...

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

@STFan Could you move the posts about the rear diff bushings over to @Cdubya original post about this issue, please? That also strikes me as an odd change. What was the original reason to move to a single bushing? Assuming this was done due to some valid, yet obscure reason, could it be that...

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I have two, but who was the brainiac engineer who decided one was ok to save a few bucks? Normally there's a pretty significant process to make an engineering change like that.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

I'm not sure whether Ford is completely screwed up or your dealer (and service reps) are fools. Does anyone else on this site actually have just a single bolt securing their rear diff to the subframe? Mine certainly has two.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Could you elaborate? Looking at your earlier thread, I assumed that the second bolt had simply been missed during construction since the slot was there for it. Looking at the mechanic's statement, it's hard to tell whether a single bolt had snapped or one bolt had snapped on the passenger...

    Alberta Explorer ST Owners

You'll have to search the posts, but as I remember from last fall/winter, a lot of the Canadians were running the steel police (PIU) wheels which will fit the regular or performance brakes. And, if my memory serves me correctly, they were getting much better prices in Canada than we in the...

is there a metal oil pan available for this motor?

That's a skid plate, not an oil pan. But what's your point???

Well....that's one way to look at it.

    Cold Air Intake status?

If it is a wastegate/flow surging problem, this would point to better downpipes (catted of course), having a larger impact in performance than I had previously thought. Of course, it could just be a peculiarity of the dyno itself.

    Cold Air Intake status?

Slightly off subject, but does anyone else wonder about the choppiness of the dyno chart after about 5200 rpm? It can't be compressor surge at that point. The "surge" rpm points are too close together to be explained by intake/exhaust resonance either. So, would it be attributable to KR...

    Cold Air Intake status?

You're not wrong tho in checking for actual max vs stock hp/torque figures. Due to resonance etc, there may be gains at certain RPM points, but it's obviously breathing better than the stock units at about 5200 and above- as long as you can believe the charts. If so, a tune would probably show...

    Cold Air Intake status?

Unless I'm going blind, perhaps you're misreading the dyno chart. Looks like what they are claiming matches up with the dyno results. The claim is "max gains". It looks to me to be a pretty nicely engineered unit. I agree it's pricey tho.
