    Wheel setup advice

Been talked about a lot. I’ll make it easy for you, the best setup is: 22x10.5 +30 offset

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

Spoke/face design has a lot more to do with brake clearance than 5mm offset. That’s why good wheel and brake companies both have templates available to check clearances.

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

Again, that is down to the spoke design. My 20x9.5, +33 wheels clear just fine. But my RTR wheels were designed with big brake caliper clearance in mind.

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

If you are planning to put the Shelby GT350 brakes on, I would go an extra 5mm on the offset. A member with 20x10.5 wheels on a +35mm offset had to use a 10mm spacer to make them fit. 30mm would most likely clear those brakes but the 25mm creates an ever-so-slightly more aggressive look.

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

Ok, good to know, so that probably wouldn't sit flush with the fender then.

You're fine with the Street Pack brakes. Even Police Interceptor rims fit over those. I have aftermarket 20s and plenty of clearance around my GT350 brakes.

Best tires and rim size for racing

Should be at +30 all around.

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

It’s not about wheel width, it’s about caliper clearance. A 295/45r20 is a little wide on an 9” wheel, I’d bump up wheel width to 10” or 10.5”.

Best tires and rim size for racing

Very much agree, the 295/40/r20 I have on my ST's 20x10's +35mm saved my rims more than once. Driving with the R888R's will be significantly more stressful but the feeling of yeeting into a corner will be priceless. I have had a few year's of experience running 245/40ZR20 on 20x9 up front and...

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

Ideally you’d be looking at a 10 or 10.5” wide wheel at +30 offset. 9” +35 is just a bad fit if you’re spending the money to go aftermarket.

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

Hi everyone, I am planning on picking up a set of 20 x 9" rims with a +35 offset & pairing up with 295/45/20 Pirelli's. I have a couple questions, would there be any clearance issues between the red performance calipers and the rims & with the tires being almost an inch wider than stock, do you...

    Wider tires?

I have a project with trying to find the right drag set up. Would the 18x10 30 offset rim fit on a 305/45/18 without rubbing? Please let me know

    Rude Awakening On Rims Today!

I'm embarrassed to say! I'm such an idiot! Rims are fine. Test fit one on the vehicle and it was fine. I was using 10.5" to figure out the offset and using a ruler because I no longer have a metal straight edge. The rim isn't 10.5" wide, duh. It's actually 11.5" from outside to outside. While at...

    Rude Awakening On Rims Today!

When you measure the hub bore, make sure you are measuring to the inside of the bevel on the mounting face. Pulling a wheel off and test fitting a rim is a sure fire way of knowing though. When you measured the offset was it excatly +25mm or just close? You want the rim on a hard flat surface...

This is what’s on the back: Not very helpful. I measured the hub bore and it’s 70.5mm so he is probably right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
