    New engine

I always look at engines and transmissions the same way I look at electronics. Either gonna go early, or do you right for a long time.

    ST Experience Events for 2026

First Time You Rode In A Powerful Car

Magnum PI-style Ferrari in the 80s. First owned, 2019 Mustang GT PP2 Need for Green. 6-speed manual, full exhaust, and tuned. I'll always love that car. Ive modified into fast and comfy. Which I why I moved from an Edge ST, to the Exploder ST.

    Break in period limiting RPMs

I took it somewhat easy the first 1000, changed the oil at 1200, and haven't really worried about it since. I don't beat on it until it warms up, and that practice is new for both the old and the new car.

    Carroll Shelby CS10 (20x9.5, 37mm offset)

Built Engine Update: Addressing Main Cap Instability in the Nano EcoBoost

So reading up on the 10R60, and Adams' own posts, considering the 600hp. A daily driver or performance tune doesn't push things too far, depending on how you use it. Drag strip trips aside, and not towing with a 100hp tune added on.

New tires looking for that expert help

I think I've seen those before. Plus, for me, it depends on when I buy, whether I'll keep that vehicle much longer, lol. One of my cheaper go to's are Cooper tires.

New tires looking for that expert help

I only buy Continental or Michelin, but that's $$$. Not up to speed on better deals.

Softening the ride on an ST?

Yeah, 18s are nice, but I hate the look—too much tire.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I'm swapping to Speed or Oil Analyzers next time. Blackstone is too unreliable in a couple of areas that I care about, like Fuel Dilution.

I took a close look at that color—congratulations! I'm indifferent about the wireless charger. It tends to get hot and can produce some fan noise. My Pro Max lasts two days on a single charge, so I only really use the wireless charger during long road trips. However, I do love having wireless...

Oil testing & too much info

Agreed. Those heads in the Coyote are a good determing factor, car is well warmed up before they are. The 10R80 in my 2021 shifted like a sledgehammer in sport mode when it was cold.

    Help with Purchase

Same on 4WD vs 2WD. I specifically want the 4WD, after owning two others. And you are right, launches on asphalt had even Trackhawks destroying half shafts. Once the vehicle is moving, fun driving is way less burdensome. The earlier PTO setups had all kinds of issues, but they seem to be...

Oil testing & too much info

I'd like to add a couple of points. I've been a member of BITOG since 2004, and I've seen evidence that Wally World's Supertech Full Synthetic and Supertech Oil filters perform well under standard oil change intervals for a daily driver. Also, don't waste your money; you can use any full...

Oil testing & too much info

The viscosity that I just got back on the factory fill was 8.12

    Used Oil Analysis Results

First results: factory fill was pulled out at 1200 miles. Currently using Valvoline 5W-30; it will be changed and analyzed after 5,000 miles. I'll keep updating as I go.

Kinda like the German Castrol back in the day. Great stuff, and on the high end of "thick" 30.

Powerstop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Kit

It looks like a fantastic deal. I’m eager to find out if it improves stopping power. However, I’m not really interested in the $6000 kits, lol.
