Wipers stopped..inoperable!!

Of course today its pouring rain and as soon as it starts the wipers turned on (always have on auto when not washing) and then got stuck at first wipe at complete top of arc.

I have tried everything at this point. Pull negative terminal and let sit (10-15min), cycled the ignition and checked all fuses even remotely related to wipers (center stalk, wiper motor, etc). All fuses intact and even the washer fluid doesn't work anymore. The only thing on that stalk that works is the rear wiper switch. Flip that and the rear wiper works fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. Dealer was no help when asked if there was something I was missing and its supposed to rain next couple of days. Drive home was long...

Hopefully you still have the 3/36 warranty or an extended one.

I was just outside of the 3/36 by 3k miles so dealership wouldn't even talk to me without the diagnostic ($200) being done first. Wouldn't talk to Ford or see if they'd work with me until they determined the issue.

So update for anyone who's unlucky enough to somehow have a their wipers stop working before 40k, I swapped the steering column switch first to make sure that the easier part wasn't at fault. No change.

Once I got the transmission out the motor was clearly seized. I did break it loose moving the arms out of the way to unbolt the motor. Fun fact, the new motor does not come threaded for the bolts that attach it to the transmission! So some WD-40 and slowly threading with the original bolts did the trick.

Dealership diagnostic - $200 + hourly and uncharge on parts = $$$
New Motorcraft Motor from RockAuto = $45 + express shipping = $60 and i'm back for the midwest weather.
