Brakes

Hi All,
The ST I just bought needs brake pads but I'm unsure as to which pack I have, the standard or the street. The wheels and tire size say street but the calipers aren't red. Don't know if the previous owner upgraded just the wheels.
I've attached a pic. (sorry about the rotor rust, rained last night)
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Go to parts.ford.com, enter your vin, search for rotor, or Disc Brake Pad Set.

If the calipers aren't red these are standard brakes. Both the Street and Track packages had red calipers. Now... someone may have changed them but probably not.

Agreed! What threw me is the wheels and tires are street pack.

I painted my standard brake calipers and brackets red. I guess I cheated. Future buyer beware.

Base brakes have 345mm front rotors, Street Pack have 363mm. Bust out the ruler if you're unsure. Also, the rear rotors on base brakes are solid and super narrow. Street Pack rear rotors are vented.

Base rear rotors 320mm, StreetPack rear rotors 350mm.

I'm guessing the pads are thicker or the caliper is wider and question using ceramic on stock rotors. This vehicle has 17000 miles last 3000 with ceramic pads.

I installed ceramic pads also and get that grunting sound upon brake release on the first outing of the day. When they're warmed up, it stops.

On the Advanced Auto Website, the Explorer pad part numbers ending with 2331 are for Red Calipers, part numbers ending 2332 are for without Red Calipers.
