Was wondering what thoughts are on the MBRP axle back. I know some of you are running it and want to see if you’re happy with your decision or would you have gone with something else? Wanting to get a little more sound without breaking g the bank and this one sounds just about right.

I too would like a little more sound from my ST. After finding what I could on here and youtube, I purchased the MRT H-pipe. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, and will hopefully be installed on Saturday. From what I have read I am expecting a slight increase in volume both inside and outside of the vehicle, and no drone. With the sale they are having I was able to get it shipped for $246, which seems to be a steal compared to some other exhaust mods/upgrades. Just thought I'd mention it.

The MRT H-pipe will give you a nice low tone and slightly more exhaust sound outside. I find I really don't hear it much inside although I do have some sound treatment in the trunk. In any case, the MRT H-pipe with the stock exhaust iis right up my alley after I briefly had on (and removed) the Gibson axleback. Pair the H-pipe with some nice muffler tips and it is perfect for those who do not want additional in-cabin sound. It is as close to stock than any of the other exhaust options. Some will say it is not enough noise but I enjoy my music and don't want to hear the exhaust when cruising on the highway or with light throttle.

Haven’t heard too many complaints about the axle back. But definitely do not get the full exhaust system. It drones like crazy. I swapped out the x-pipe that it comes with, with a traditional muffler and it has taken 95% of the drone away. Eh…maybe I’m just getting too old. :D

Any drone with the MRT H pipe with stock exhaust? We travel up to the mountains in NC, TN etc often and wondering if in an uphill situation when the engine lugs a little before downshifting if it will drone. Any chance you have sound clips/vid to hear it?

I’ll be sure to post some clips as soon as I have the h-pipe installed. I will also be leaving the stock rear mufflers intact.

Sorry, no video clips. Do not worry about drone. None. Like I said, from inside the cabin, very close to stock. Outside you'll hear slightly louder and very low tones. This is with the stock exhaust. Do not think about an axleback with it or it's subdued nature will morph into a raucous beast. It's almost like it was made for the stock exhaust.

For me I must be drone free, but I also detest a bunch of noise when I'm partial throttle--not even getting on it. That's the situation for most highway driving and daily driving. Some want more... that's not for me. MRT H-pipe doesn't do that! I find it outstandingly perfect. Just needs some 4" muffler tips for the stock muffler and you are set.

Not sure about the strain of going uphill for an extended period. I don't do that and don't tow.
