Strange question, but what is the stock psi on the turbo's for our ST's?

I only ask cause I use the gauge function on my SCT tuner and it states that the turbo psi hits a high of 22.3 psi.

Could that be right?

Sounds like a high amount of boost to me.

Just wondering, I like to hear the discussions here on questions I can't answer.

Thanks

I don't think 22.3 sounds high- it all depends on the volumetric efficiency at the rpm where that boost peaks. The stock turbos have relatively small compressors and turbines, so it doesn't sound out of line. Does the tuner list the RPM at 22.3?

No it does not.
The rpm is on a separate gauge layout.
Just wanted to see what you guys think .
Also I should have mentioned it has a 93 tune.

Stock mine spiked to 17.5 but would sustain about 12 psi. I think it was probably 30 degrees that day, never logged it stock again after that.

What do most of these tunes (JDM, PBD, ZFG, GearHead) hit on 93 octane?

It will vary based on quite a few things. It’s a torque based engine strategy so they’ll make the boost they’re told to make to hit the torque target. It’ll make less boost on a cold day and more on a hot day for example.

22 psi seems like a nice jump over stocks max of 18 psi - How does it feel? I’m running the GearHead, but maybe it’s worth switching it up to try out the regular SCT Tune. Do you like it?

That number you are seeing on the device is the maximum psi achieved, which could have been a boost spike on a shift or a number that was seen for a thousandth of a second. You really need to do a datalog to see what boost level it is maintaining across an entire gear. That number will also likely change if you compare it on a 90 degree day vs a 45 degree day.

I have the 93 octane tune from JDM in NJ and I believe the boost psi is between 22 and 26. It's substantially more than it was stock in more than just boost.
Tks.

I just purchased the Gearhead E30 tune. I also have a 5-star E50 tune and the gearhead feels just as fast with better shifting.
Gearhead is currently working on revisions to their E30 tune and more power is to be had according to the tuner.
