New Site to Track Vehicle Order

I'm a software engineer by trade and build a lot of side-projects in my free-time. I spent the weekend building this:

https://ordertrack.app/

It's a website to track your vehicle order. I hated having to lookup all of the information separately so I ultimately built something that had everything in one place.

[EDIT]:

Current Features:
- Search history on home page to allow easy refresh of data
- Shipping integration to see shipment details (palsapp took down their order lookup) -- only shows convoy at the moment.
- Sticker lookup
- Vehicle status

I will be adding more features:
- Estimated order-to-ship time based on an average of user orders
- Historical status (when the vehicle was in order submit, in production, shipped etc)
- Module information (I haven't yet looked at Ford's systems to see if an integration is possible yet) or link to modules page
- Link to Ford's tracker (with page already ready to go)
- Canadian user support (potentially)

[EDIT+]:
Just an FYI since I haven't added any helpful messages yet:

If the status says: "Vehicle Unknown", then Ford's systems are saying that they order is not yet ready to be tracked or the VIN/Order is invalid

The shipping information will always say 'Unknown' for Rail as I haven't yet integrated with any rail systems. I will be adding details about how you can get information by phone as well as disclaimers about avoiding talking to humans as we don't want to piss people off by our nagging (haha). It sucks being so excited about ordering and having to wait too long!

Here is a Ford Bronco as a sample. I just really got sick of having to go to all the different sites... Screen Shot 2022-03-07 at 1.35.25 AM.png

Love how clean it is, and that it works! haha

This is just for my information, how can you tell if it's rail or convoy? My window sticker says convoy but I realize it could be truck to the railyard, etc.

Thanks for making this!

I was literally just talking about this scenario with someone on Facebook. I check to see if a Freight ID is generated and the app is just assuming that it's a convoy, but I think what can happen is that the vehicle travels from the plant to the rail yard on a semi so haha IDK.

The only way I can think to more accurately determine this is if I can read the PDF sticker and look to see if it says rail or convoy.

[EDIT]: The guy I was talking to said his sticker says rail, but he app has an origin and a freight id.... so I'm guessing they actually log when it goes from truck to rail. It's fascinated. It's a bit more info than Ford gives out so that's something.

That's awesome! I can't imagine the logistics in place for moving vehicles and parts, only for us to sit impatiently checking every day haha.

If anyone has any comments, questions, concerns that they don't want to share publicly about the app, you can email me at support@ordertrack.app

Someone on the Bronco forums was asking about the same thing. I was already thinking about it! It would take a bit of lift and there will be lots of people with their vehicles already, but it's worth doing it if people will enjoy the feature.
