As many know by now any Ford after 2019 has a built in telemetry unit that sends data to FORD.
Ford collects this data and stores it, what is in there I can not tell you because I have not seed the data.
Knowing large corporations probably quite a bit, might even include your pants size :giggle:

Anyways does anyone know the location of the telemetry unit in the EXST?
Also is it as simple as just unplugging it?

Obviously, I'm not familiar with Ford's software, but I'm interested in others' experiences. I don't have Sirius, never signed up for or downloaded the Ford Pass app, nor am I being billed for anything. I'm very selective about my privacy (at least as far as I can be). But it's interesting that my vehicle will still put up real-time traffic notifications when using GPS without anything else being enabled. Doesn't that suggest that there is some type of cellular communication taking place?

it has a modem and sat. I think the SIM card is somewhere behind the glove box (from another thread somewhere on here). You get 2 or 3 yrs free (I think) of satellite traffic w/o signing anything (well the Ts & Cs are prob. buried in the purchase docs).

I know in my 2017 Focus RS traffic on the map is pushed via satellite data, it piggy backs on the SiriusXM data stream.
